What We Believe

At Black Creek Baptist Church, we believe that what we believe matters. Our faith and ministry are rooted in the Word of God and centered on the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and is our authority for what we believe and how we live.

God

We believe there is one God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin. He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and bodily rose from the dead on the third day. Jesus Christ is the one mediator between God and humanity and the only Savior of sinners.

Salvation

We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ. Those who repent of their sins and place their faith in Christ receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

The Church

We believe the church is a body of believers in Jesus Christ who gather for worship, fellowship, biblical teaching, prayer and service. As followers of Christ, we are called to love one another, grow as His disciples and make the good news of Jesus Christ known to others.

Baptism and the Lord's Supper

We recognize two ordinances given to the church by Jesus Christ: Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

We practice believer's baptism by immersion as a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord's Supper is observed as the church remembers Christ and His saving work.

Our Security in Christ

We believe that those who have truly trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation are secure in Him.

Our Mission

We believe followers of Jesus Christ are called to make Him known. Therefore, we seek to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, serve others and advance the work of Christ in our community and throughout the world.
