Pastor

Pastor and Mrs. Stephen Kendrick

I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and brought up in a military family. I was raised in a Christian household with two parents who love the Lord. However, it was not till the age of 22 that I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior and became a born-again Christian. Not long after my conversion, I felt the call from the Lord to enter Pastoral Ministry. In August 2012, I began my theological training at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in December of 2016. I am also working on a doctorate degree at Southeastern Seminary with my project idea centering on expository preaching from the Old Testament. I entered pastoral ministry in April of 2018 and have been involved with the ministry ever since. I strongly believe that the call of every follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of occupation, is to make Christ known to a lost and dying world. Although building campaigns and programs are important, they are not as important as making Jesus Christ known to others. The verse from Holy Scripture that is the centerpiece of my life and ministry comes from Galatians 6:14, “Far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.”

My wife, Erika Kendrick, was born and raised in Bolivia, South America as a missionary kid. She lived in Bolivia till the age of 17, when she and her family relocated back to the United States. Erika graduated from New Tribes Bible Institute in 2009 (now Etnos 360) with an Associate’s degree in Biblical Studies and she graduated from Piedmont International University in 2015 (now Carolina University) with a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries and a double minor in Missions and Managing Non-Profits. Erika currently works for a non-profit, sponsorship organization for children. She has been a believer in Jesus Christ since the age of 7 and has a strong passion to help those who are grieving. Without doubt, the Lord has used her past periods of grief to mold and shape her to be a positive influence on those with hurting hearts. Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” For Erika, this verse has been a comfort many times in her life and she shares this verse with others to bring comfort to them as well.
